    First I have to say Happy New Year 2013 The year of 2012 was an amazing embankment on niche and natural fragrances. It was a year of challenges for me in keeping up with new launches and it was a year of total inspiration for me.

   I look for the year of 2013 to be an equally amazing year with more unique and inspiration fragrances that are called the world finest.

  I am pleased to announce that MOSS GOWN EAU DE PARFUM by Providence Perfume Company receives the title of Fragrance Belles-Lettres Magazine, "FRAGRANCE OF THE YEAR HONOR".

  When I received the sample of Moss Gown in the mail from owner and natural perfumer, Charna Ethier, I was simply spellbound by the beautiful advertisement that was enclosed in the magazine. The big glossy card that had the most beautiful model holding a huge bottle of Moss Gown Eau de Parfum was a winner in itself. I sent an email to Charna expressing my delight in the art and craft of such a glorious package  and that I knew the scent had to be that much more appealing.

 The inspiration behind Moss Gown Eau de Parfum is taken from a book, "Moss Gown" by Robert H Hooks. Moss Gown is actually a dress that was designed by a witch and Charna creates a fragrance around this story. It beckons the aroma that makes this fairytale so believable and the girl in this story named Candace, like Cinderella finds contemptment in the end.

 Moss Gown Eau de Parfum when worn takes you through all the steps that Candace experiences. It is the joy of wearing this fragrance and in the very end Candace reaps the awards in life because of her good heart and blessings bestowed upon her.

 Moss Gown setting in the book is in the deep south. Charna brilliantly composed the notes that would comprise of the deep south sometime ago. It gives the warmth of a beautiful day shimmering with colorful flowers and smells of a mild nature. Not quick and abrupt.

I followed the story through Moss Gown Eau de Parfum. I understood the plot and I further understood that to create a natural botanical scent..one must understand the history.

Once the entire plot was laid out, Charna molded the characters into being and placed each one in their proper place. Candace's jealous sisters received their just do and Moss Gown Eau de Parfum became an original, a prize and a fragrance that I will always remember Providence Perfume Company creating.

It will tell the story over and over again but with each drop from the bottle, it will give me a new outlook for 2013 and beyond.

   The INSTITUTE FOR ART AND OLFACTION will become a reality for fragrance consumers and aficionados in three months.

   This institute is garnering a big following in its early stages of development.

   IAO is located in Los Angeles and before its launch date in March 2013,  they have planned programs for the fragrance industry's enjoyment and educational values.

   In my opinion, this is one of the best institutions at this point that offer a vast range of opportunities for beginners and veterans in the fragrance industry.

  It is a much needed place for information and opportunities in the ever-growing populations of fragrance launches and events worldwide.

 The IAO will be offering opportunities for grants, workshops, mentorship programs, stocked perfumers laboratory and much more!

 I spoke to one of the staff members, Ms. Saskia Wilson-Brown via email to introduce myself and express my joy with the IAO.

Ms. Brown wrote me back via email with such enthusiasm and thanked me for taking the time out to express my gratitude and the fact that I offered some suggestions that would additionally be great for the IAO.

I am truly excited about the IAO and I welcome them with open arms!

If you are already bursting with excitement like myself, guess what? There is an opportunity to meet the IAO.

Yes! There will be a Meet and Greet at the Scent Bar in Los Angeles on Friday, December 14, 2012.

            LORETTA EAU DE PARFUMS LAUNCHES IN LOS ANGELES

 
      On Friday, October 19, 2012 an amazing event of fragrance and picture will take place at the Scent Bar in Los Angeles, California.

      FIFI Award winning perfumer, Andy Tauer and filmmaker, Brian Pera will launch LORETTA. The second fragrance in the Tableau de Parfums line.

      This event of aroma and entertainment will be celebrated from 5:00pm-7:00pm at 7405 Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles. As you may already know, Scent Bar is the retail store for the highly successful online perfumery Luckyscent.

     LORETTA,  is a fragrance designed by Andy Tauer for Brian Pera's acclaimed film, WOMAN'S PICTURE.

     Andy Tauer yet again has successful combine both arts into a creation that makes this film so much more realistic.

    LORETTA is a rich oriental floral perfume with hints at sensual and mystery in a bottle that leaves the 70's and 80's era of perfumery with a classic note of creative pomp and circumstances.

    During this event will be an opportunity to enter a drawing for a FREE bottle from the extended Tauer fragrance range.

   Evelyn Avenue and Tableau de Parfums collaboration presents LORETTA Eau de Parfum in a 50 ML and 7 ML Purse Spray.

   Master Perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena Strikes Another Accord with Book

    
  
       Jean-Claude Ellena has been the exclusive perfumer to the house of Hermes since 2004.
He now adds another highly anticipated and highly successful book to his esteemed record called,
The Diary of a Nose: A Year in the Life of a Parfumeur to debut January 2013.

       In this book, Mr. Ellena explores the inspiration and creativity of a fragrance on an intimate level such as translating the mood of seduction and in a delicate touch into an aroma.

       This is done by the successful olfactory of Mr. Ellena but to get into the mood to create a fragrance comes from inspiration and Mr. Ellena admits that he doesn't always know where it will come.

      Here will be another of Jean-Claude Ellena books on my shelf. I find the subject matter to be extremely interesting to me personally. Inspiration is the key to everything and Mr. Ellena admits that he rely solely on it.

                                             COCONUT MILK PARFUM
                                                   A Scent of Tropical Heaven

    If you live in the Midwest such as I do, reality has set in and the days of warm weather, I mean really warm weather is now the past. I love the change of the season and to be honest the extremely hot weather this summer was too much for me to handle.

   However those few days this summer that came with a glimpse of breeze made up for those far too many humid moments.

  It easy for me snuggle under a blanket and remember those more bareable warm days with tropical thoughts in a place filled with scents and serene visions.

  I was given a wonderful sample of COCONUT MILK PARFUM from the Perfect Perfume collection by perfumer, Sarah Horowitz at the Artisan Fragrance Salon in San Francisco.

  COCONUT MILK immediately blew me away with its all so real coconut. It is so real that you can actually drink it. It is a true to the core and it has an underlining amount of almond. it is just the right amount to bring the tropics into your living room.

 It reminds me of a smoothie. Lush, thick and the sillage lasts for many hours.

 What I love about the generosity of Sarah Horowitz Parfums is that COCONUT MILK and other fragrances can be purchased in so many options such as a Eau de Parfum, pure oil, body lotion, body and massage oil, bath & shower gel and more.

 I am a great fan of coconut milk! So to have a fragrance that I can wear as much as I love the drink is a win-win situation.

COCONUT MILK is not filled with a lot of notes but the notes in it are truly important and with Sarah talent she composes just the right about of accord(s) to take a complicated fruit to design into a luscious and vibrant scent.
