Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. He was a church deacon, mathematician and an author of mathematics books.
Dodgson had a bad stammer which he suffered with all of his life. This limited his speaking engagements. However, in spite of his stammer, Dodgson spoke easily with children.
During a hot summers day on July 4TH, 1862, Dodgson began to tell a long story to Alice Liddell (died in 1934) who was the daughter of George Liddell, the head of Oxford College. This is when Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was born and it still continues to this day.
"Every thing's got a moral, if only you can find it"
Lewis Carroll quote
I was so attracted by the quality and style of the suits tailored by Anderson & Sheppard when I visited their website. This is why I was inclined to feature this wonderful company in this month's Men's Issue.
I am also partial to Formal Wear because I used to see my father wear a tuxedo to various social events and I always admire how neat and dignified he looked in it.
The Formal Wear tailored by Anderson & Sheppard took my breathe away. I simply loved the elegance and softness with the sheen of material.

William Henry Penhaligon was an alchemist who was inspired by unlikely places and he used his talent to create some of the most exclusive scents for clients that only wanted the best.
Mr. Penhaligon was born in Penzance and then moved to London in the late 1860's He was inspired by entrepreneurship, so he founded a barbershop on Jermyn Street in London. He was thought to be witty and eccentric but very creative. He turned his passion for the Art of Perfumery by becoming a perfumer to the elite.
Hamman Bouquet was the first fragrance created by William Penhaligon in 1872 which started a dynasty for him. By the end of Queen Victoria's reign, William Henry Penhaligon had been appointed Barber and Perfumer to the Royal court. Well it is now time to reveal the secret of the British clothing design company that will be featured in this issue and it is.....Anderson & Sheppard!
This high end shoppe has recently celebrated its 100Th anniversary with fine suits that have outfitted European royalty to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood mavens.
This issue will share the history with pictures of this fascinating journey from the House of Sheppard and Anderson.
On behalf of Fragrance Belles-Lettres, I would like to thank Anda Rowland, Co-Owner for Sheppard and Anderson for all the kindness and sending beautiful pictures of this magnificent and fabulous historical company to me.
This month's issue is to celebrate the accomplishments of British companies and the men who have created a dynasty for themselves. So, this month a legendary historical fiction book of fairytale and fantasy for children got another screen adaptation by Hollywood director, Tim Burton who paired up with Walt Disney Productions to bring to life for the 21st century, 'Alice in Wonderland'.
Lewis Carroll who wrote the book 'The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland' had a vision and he believed in it which captured the hearts of children and adults all over the world.
This issue is in celebration of dreams coming true rather it is in perfumery, designing clothes or writing literature for children. It is a dream for these men who have passed it down for our generation to enjoy and it is up to us to pass on our own individual dreams for the future.
