Each year Bastille Day is celebrated on July 14th. Bastille Day is a National holiday in France. It is very much like Independence Day in the United States because of the beginning of a new form of government.
There was a time in France when the rulers were kings and queens. Decisions made by the rulers were not always favorable to the citizens of France. So finally the citizens revolted and since then been called the storming of the Bastille. This was the beginning of the French Revolution. This is Bastille Day.
