There is a NEW book published by BALLATINE BOOKS last month that is climbing the charts. This book of mystery with a magical element on a troubling subject has a unique way of using flowers in this well-written novel.
THE LANGUAGE OF FOWERS by Vanessa Diffenbaugh, gives a unique and sophisticated approach about the foster care system in the US and how a young woman dealing with the secrets of her past uses flowers to impact the people she meets.
Did you know flowers have a meaning? The first Language of Flowers book "Le Language des Fleurs" written by Charlotte de Latour was printed in Paris in the year of 1819.
It is about a list of flowers and their meanings. "Le Language des Fleurs" ignited the science of floriography and many other books on the meaning of flowers were published in Europe and America.
So, if you are in the mood for a novel with rich and intense moments that will keep you guessing and wanting more but still has the flair for fragrances...THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS by Vanessa Diffenbaugh is for you.

Amazing and moving novel about abandonment, attachment and redemption. I read this book with butterflies, waiting, much like the narrator, for something to go wrong, waiting for Victoria to destroy her own happiness. The language of flowers weaves a wonderful thread through the story, emphasizing her inability to relate and communicate with people because of her childhood. The book was satisfying in a way that many books just aren't nowadays, and it will stick with me for awhile.
