AMBERGRIS
The book that goes behind the substance
Ambergris is one of the world's most expensive substances and the least known until now...
Author and molecular biologist, Christopher Kemp explores this fascinating history of ambergris with passion and lively entertainment.
Most of us know ambergris or better known as "amber" laced in perfumes that are known to be the more expensive scents on the market. I have noticed this year that there were as many amber fragrances as their was with the popular oudh scents.
I look forward to getting more of a perspective about ambergris from Dr. Kemp who is from the state of Michigan.
The book, FLOATING GOLD A NATURAL (AND UNNATURAL) HISTORY OF AMBERGRIS published by The University of Chicago Press should be on the most acclaimed fragrance aficionado's shelf.
As a journalist myself, I look forward to speaking with Dr. Kemp and learning more by reading this book and asking questions on why it is such a popular substance in fragrances but really is not known to most of the world.
