Smell-Festival Internazionale dell’Olfatto (International Smell) takes place every year in Bologna (Italy) during the last week of May.
This year the festival opens on Tuesday, May 24 through Sunday, May 29th at two historical locations, the Museo della Musica (Music Museum) and Museo Archeologico (Archaeological Museum).
This grand event is open to the public and it pays special attention to the ‘sense of smell and the art of perfumery’. The Smell-Festival is dedicated to history, quality and innovation with concerns to flavors and fragrances at the core.
This year’s theme is dedicated to the Symbolic and Ritual side of perfumery and to help the theme become a reality, there are various participants from all over the world to share their creations and interpretations of "spirituality and rituals".

I had an opportunity to speak with Yosh Han to get an inside look at what she will be featuring at the Smell-Festival.
“This will be my second presentation in Bologna. I did 'Smell of Black' last year. This year I will present Scented Hanami Haiku and Tea Tasting and an Aromatic Healing Meditation for Japan”.
