Floris and his wife, Elizabeth began selling perfume, combs and shaving products in the elegant quarters of London's St. James. Today, the house of Floris is still located in its original spot on Jermyn Street where tradition still remains with exotic blending of essences and oils to still give it that Mediterranean feel to each fragrance.
The very first perfume created by Floris since establishment was Lavender Eau de Toilette in 1730. It is a classical single note floral fragrance. Lavender was discontinued after many years, but it was relaunched in 1923.
The house of Floris became known all over Europe and Mr. Floris received the first Royal Warrant granted to him in 1820 by the new appointed King George IV. Since that time Mr. Floris received about 16 Royal Warrants granted to him and each is still on display in the shop.
The house of Floris is run by the 8th generation of descendants. The descendants are known for keeping tradition alive just like Mr. Floris would want it to be.
Lavender Eau de Toilette is still available for purchase. Floris perfumery has been in business now for 280 years. Success comes naturally to this perfumery and they look forward to 280 more years of tradition and new discoveries for the future.
